Our Pay It Forward Program: Supporting Veterans Through Companionship

At Hidden Hills, we’re passionate about giving back to those who’ve served our country. In 2020, amidst a year of unprecedented challenges, we took a bold step to expand our Pay It Forward Program. What began as a simple act of gratitude—gifting  a free rams every year to fellow veterans to help start their flocks—this evolved into something even more impactful: providing service and companion dogs to veterans in need.

How It All Started

Our journey into the dog program was a true leap of faith. Without any external funding, we relied on our own resourcefulness and belief that there would be others to make it happen. Since launching, we’ve successfully placed multiple dogs completely free of charge with veterans, while offering major discounts on other puppies to ensure they find loving homes in veteran families. This initiative isn’t just about the animals; it’s about fostering healing, companionship, and a sense of community for those who’ve sacrificed so much. We saw the impact of military life while my husband was in the service and we are seeing the impact of this program.

The Pay It Forward Cycle

To keep the program growing sustainably, some of our placements include a special contract: recipients agree to breed one litter from their dog. This allows us to generate more puppies that can be gifted to additional veterans, creating a ripple effect of kindness. Together, we’re building a network where one act of generosity leads to many more—truly paying it forward.

Our Success Stories

We’ve celebrated several successful litters through the program, each one bringing joy and support to more families. Our very first program dog, Libby, produced a beautiful and super sweet litter that touched the lives of multiple veterans. These milestones remind us of the real difference we’re making, one wagging tail at a time.

Looking Ahead: Upcoming Litters

Aussiedoodles available!

We’re excited about the future! Several of our Pay It Forward dogs are expected to have litters soon, expanding our ability to help even more veterans. If you’re a veteran interested in a companion dog or know someone who could benefit, we invite you to join our waitlist. Contact us at [your email/phone] or fill out the form in the contact us section to get started. Your spot on the list helps us plan ahead and ensure we can match the right pup with the right home.

This program is more than a charity—it’s a community-driven effort powered by veterans, for veterans. If you’d like to support us through donations, volunteering, or sharing our story, reach out today. Together, we can continue this chain of goodwill.
